Weekly Seminar Series starts this week

Our weekly seminar series starts THIS Wednesday the 12th of August from 6.00pm 'til 7.00pm.  We're using the Zoom platform, which you can access from just about any device.

Our first session is "A Pro's Guide to flying at Essendon Airport".  Our special guest presenter is Kelvin O'Callaghan, who has around 40 years of experience working in Australian air traffic control and who is currently a tower controller at Essendon airport.  Kelvin is also learning to fly with us at Lilydale!

Topics that we'll be covering in this Not To Be Missed seminar include :

  • What does the Essendon Tower do?
  • Recommended procedures for city orbits
  • Recommended procedures for inbound from YLIL - preferred waypoints etc
  • Recommended procedures for departing Essendon
  • General Q&A

With the old Melbourne VFG being 10 years out of print, this is a fantastic opportunity to get the lowdown on YMEN from the inside and very applicable to students and pilots of all stages and ages.

We will also publish the Zoom session information on our Facebook page, and  send weekly emails for each upcoming session.  Some upcoming topics include:

  • Q&A on a day in the life of a JQ A320 pilot before and after COVID
  • Tips and Tricks to get the most out of AvPlan
  • What to watch out for when buying an aeroplane
  • From TIF to TEST - how to get the most out of each flying lesson

We hope to "see" you there!
